This classic northern circuit adds Tarangire, famous for large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. It gives you three very different landscapes and a deep sense of East Africa.

It is the longest of our fly-in options, and the closest to a full safari while still starting and finishing on Zanzibar.

How your safari unfolds

Timings are a guide. We confirm the final schedule with the flights available on your date.

  1. Day 1

    Fly to Arusha and Tarangire

    Fly from Zanzibar to Arusha, meet your guide and drive to Tarangire for an afternoon game drive among elephants and baobabs.

  2. Day 2

    Tarangire to Serengeti

    A morning drive in Tarangire, then a transfer to the Serengeti by light aircraft or road. An afternoon game drive follows.

  3. Day 3

    Serengeti to Ngorongoro

    A full morning of game viewing in the Serengeti, then a drive to the Ngorongoro highlands for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Crater and return

    Descend into the crater for a game drive, enjoy a picnic lunch, then return to Arusha and fly back to Zanzibar.

Good to know

How is this different from a normal safari?

The flights save long road days, so you start and finish on Zanzibar and still see the main parks.

Which is the best month?

June to October is dry and excellent. The Great Migration moves, so we advise on timing.

Can this be longer?

Yes. We can add nights in any park.
