One night changes the whole experience. You arrive by lunchtime, enjoy a late-afternoon outing, sleep to the sounds of the bush and wake for a dawn drive, when the park is cool, quiet and full of life.

The night is spent in a comfortable river or lakeside camp. Meals, drinks and park fees are arranged for you, so you can simply look, listen and enjoy.

Day by day

How your safari unfolds

Timings are a guide. We confirm the final schedule with the flights available on your date.

Day 1
Fly to Nyerere
After breakfast, a private transfer takes you to the airport for the flight to Nyerere. Your guide meets you at the airstrip and takes you to camp for lunch. In the afternoon, join a boat safari or a game drive, and finish with sundowners.
Day 2
Dawn drive and return
Wake early for coffee and a dawn game drive, when the predators are still moving. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, then take the flight back to Zanzibar and a private transfer to your hotel.

What is the camp like?

Comfortable tented camps or lodges, with private bathrooms and meals included. We choose the camp to match your budget and style.

Is a walking safari included?

It can be added. Walking safaris are led by an armed ranger and are a highlight of Nyerere.

Can children come?

Many camps accept older children. Tell us their ages and we check the policy before booking.

Is it safe at night?

Yes. Camps are staffed and guests are escorted to their tents after dark.
