Your flight path

DepartZanzibar About 1 hour 15 minutes, often via Dar es SalaamMikumi National Park

Mikumi is one of the easiest parks to visit from the coast. Its open Mkata floodplain makes animals easy to see, and the park is known for giraffes, elephants, zebras and lions that rest in the shade.

The journey depends on the flight schedule, and may connect through Dar es Salaam. We plan the timing carefully so you spend the longest possible time in the park.

Highlights

  • Open floodplain with easy wildlife viewing
  • Giraffes, zebras, elephants and buffalo
  • Hippo pools and birdlife
  • A relaxed day with lunch in the park

Good to know

Is Mikumi better than Nyerere?

Mikumi is simpler and more open, while Nyerere is wilder and offers boat and walking safaris.

Is one day enough?

It is a shorter taste of the bush. For a fuller visit, consider Nyerere overnight.

Can I stay a night?

Yes. Tell us and we add a lodge night.
