Your route

  1. 1Stone Town1 night
  2. 2East Coast4 nights
  3. 3Pemba (optional)4 nights

A seven-night trip for travelers who like the sea in action: kitesurfing at Paje, snorkeling at Mnemba, diving and optionally a short flight to Pemba for world-class dive sites. It suits friends, couples and small groups who like to be active but also love a cold drink at sunset.

We choose the season and coast around the wind and the dive conditions, because the two do not always match.

Highlights

  • Kitesurf lessons or sessions at Paje
  • Snorkeling or diving at Mnemba Atoll
  • Optional Pemba dive extension
  • Sunset drinks and beach evenings

Where you will stay

Your accommodation

Hand-picked places for each stop of the journey. We confirm availability and the best room for your dates, and can suggest alternatives at any budget.

Pemba 4 nights

A small dive lodge (we confirm the best fit)

Pemba lodges are small and book early, so we choose one to match your dates and budget.

Day by day

Your journey, one day at a time

This is a starting point. We adjust every day to your dates, your pace and your interests.

Day1

Arrive in Stone Town

We meet you at the airport and take you to the old town for a relaxed evening. Dinner at the Forodhani market is a good way to meet the island, with grilled seafood and sugarcane juice.

Day2

To the east coast

A transfer of about an hour takes you to Paje or the Michamvi peninsula. You meet your kitesurf instructor or dive team, check your gear and plan the next days around the wind and tide.

Day3

Kitesurf day

Spend the day on the water at Paje, one of East Africa's best-known kite spots. Beginners start with a lesson on the beach, while experienced riders head straight out. If the wind is light, we swap to a stand-up paddle or a reef walk.

Day4

Mnemba Atoll

A morning boat trip to Mnemba for snorkeling or two dives. The reef is protected and rich in fish, and turtles and dolphins are often seen. Back by early afternoon for a rest.

Day5

Rest or repeat

Choose another session on the water, a beach day, or a visit to Jozani Forest. Tide times guide the plan: swim at high tide and explore the flats at low tide.
